The Ministry of Environment is the ministry responsible for environmental affairs in the Arab Republic of Egypt

It was established in 1997, and has since focused on cooperation with all development partners to identify environmental vision and outline of environmental policies in Egypt. The policies of the ministry are executed by the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency.

Currently, the Mission Blue alliance includes more than 200 respected ocean conservation groups and like-minded organizations, from large multinational companies to individual scientific teams doing important research. Additionally, Mission Blue supports the work of conservation NGOs that share the mission of building public support for ocean protection.

Lewis Pugh Foundation

The Lewis Pugh Foundation is about taking meaningful action to properly protect our oceans. Through their effective campaigns, diplomacy and outreach they work to preserve and conserve our oceans for a peaceful and sustainable future.

Founder, Lewis Pugh is an ocean advocate and endurance swimmer. Over 30 years he has pioneered swims in the most challenging environments on earth, including the Antarctic, the North Pole and the Himalayas. In 2013 the United Nations appointed him as the first UNEP Patron of the Oceans. He is an adjunct professor in International Law at the University of Cape Town.
